Who We Are in Brief
We were chartered on October 15, 1972 and since that time we have contributed well over $1,000,000 to the community in support of a broad range of services and organizations.
We are a club that likes our service to go beyond financial donations and we work together to provide hands on service in a number of ways including:
- We cook, serve, and provide the food for a community breakfast on the second Saturday of each month at the Salvation Army New Hope Centre,
- We sort food at the Loaves and Fishes Warehouse on the 4th Tuesday of each month
- We provide and serve barbecued food and popcorn at community events such as the Parks and Rec Family Fishing Day and the summers-end Family Fun Day
- We tend and manage the bar for the annual Dragon Boat Festival beer garden and dinners
- We are strong supporters of youth through:
Service projects at local schools
Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership Assemblies, and the local Rotaract and Interact Clubs
Annual Scholarships to secondary school graduates and VIU students*
We support various International Service projects as well as polio eradication worldwid
*We acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.
